Meet Avani Chaturvedi - First Indian Woman Fighter Pilot To Flew Mig 21 Solo

Flying Officer, Avani Chaturvedi has created history becoming the first Indian women in the history of Indian Airforce. She goes to flew a fighter Plane of Mig 21 Bison Category Solo  as stated by the Officials of Indian Air force. She undertook the sortie from the Indian Air force Base here in Jamnagar, Gujarat.Avani Chaturvedi with her batchmate


She was one of the 3 trainee pilot choosen to strenuous training programme to fly fighter jets. Other two beside her were Mohana Singh and Bhawana Kanth who got selected in the first batch of IAF’s Fighter Aircraft Training Program. In Oct 2015 when the govt decided to open the Indian Airforce fighter stream for women and as a result these three women pilots were commissioned as flying officers in July 2016 by IAF.First Batch of Women Fighter Pilots


We Would like to tell you that only selected countries like Pakistan, Britain, Israel and United States in the world have allowed women to take charge as fighter pilots.                Meanwhile Indian Army and Navy are still off for women to take combat role in the mainstream due to some combination of operational concerns and logistical constraints.avani chaturvedi creates history by flew Mig 21 Bisan


It was after 1992 when Indian armed forces began to recruit women to mainstream posts in armed forces other that medical posts.
